ACTION PACKED MINISTRY

Mixed Martial Arts is the fastest growing sport. MMA has taken the world by storm, increasing in popularity rivaling Boxing and Professional Wrestling. Competitions allow martial artists from different backgrounds, as well as traditional and non-traditional martial arts, to face off in a controlled setting with rules to promote fighter safety. Rules allow striking and grappling techniques while standing and on the ground, proving the effectiveness of Martial Arts in pure unarmed combat. Studies show that the largest avid group of followers of the sport is within the 18-45 age range. Being a ministry, we see that the common ages that are missing in attendance at church today is the 18-35 age group. By using MMA as a ministry tool, we believe we can impact the lives of men and women in our community and of our nation in a positive manner as well as bring forth 'Warriors of God' to fill the kingdom of heaven.

Ezekiel 34:16

"I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice."

1 Corinthians 9:26-27

"Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified from the prize."

How we started--Our Goals.

Around February 2009 a group of men got together to train physically and spiritually out of their own personal garages inviting others to join; Six months later, in August of 2009, those same men opened a Non-Profit Sports Ministry focused on building relationships and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the avenue of Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness known today as 5 Stones.
By building long lasting relationships, sharing their faith, offering spiritual encouragement using scripture and personal testimony, our coaches break the barrier and set the example and tone by the way they live and train in order to use MMA as a ministry tool to impact a generation for the Kingdom of God in a competitive setting where "Iron Sharpens Iron". Our goal is to promote the promise of our living God through the same methods in which athletic goals are reached: devotion, obedience, strength of character and humility.

Our Prayer.

Us praying before we went to battle this past Saturday. The event was the Central PA Warrior Challenge Grappling Tournament held at the Marriott in Lancaster, PA. Results and more pics and videos up soon!!
